Safety Disclaimer

CarVerdict provides general informational guidance only. It is not a substitute for a professional inspection. Do not drive a vehicle that appears unsafe or has flashing warning lights.
This is not a mechanic
CarVerdict is a software tool, not a certified mechanic and not a diagnostic device. It cannot inspect a vehicle, listen to an engine, put a car on a lift, or physically test any component. Every score, decision, and cost estimate in a report is based only on the information you typed in, combined with general reference data — it is not a certified diagnosis.
Flashing warning lights
A flashing (as opposed to steady) check-engine light typically signals an active engine misfire that can damage the catalytic converter and, in some cases, create a safety risk. If a check-engine light is flashing, or if a vehicle shows other clear signs of being unsafe to operate (loss of brakes, steering issues, visible smoke, strong fuel odor, etc.), do not drive it — arrange a tow or have it inspected in place instead.
Always get a professional inspection
Before purchasing any used vehicle, we strongly recommend a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) performed by a licensed, independent mechanic — regardless of what decision a CarVerdict report suggests. A PPI can catch issues that self-reported information, OBD-II codes, and listing details cannot.
Estimates only
Repair-cost ranges, market-value estimates, and risk scores shown in any report are general estimates for informational purposes only. Actual costs and vehicle condition vary by region, shop, parts availability, and the specific vehicle.
Your decision, your responsibility
The final decision to buy, negotiate, or walk away from any vehicle purchase is yours alone. CarVerdict is a decision-support tool, not a decision-maker, and assumes no responsibility for the outcome of a purchase.
